A host of extremely dedicated people have completed extraordinary challenges to raise millions for Sport Relief. Eddie Izzard ran an astounding 43 marathons in 51 days and David Walliams swam across The Channel before getting a team of celebrities to cycle the length of Britain! And that’s just for starters.

What is Sport Relief?

Sport Relief is a huge fundraising campaign that gets everyone active while they raise cash and help to change lives in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.

It involves hundreds of thousands of amazing people getting sponsored to do 1, 3 or 6 miles at the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile events across the country.

Plus, fantastic fundraisers also organise sports quizzes, tournaments and challenges to raise much needed cash. And if that wasn’t enough, there’s the BBC’s brilliant weekend of Sport Relief TV treats and moving documentary films.

In 2010, all of this effort raised over £42 million and changed countless lives forever. Now that deserves a medal.
