Sssshhhhh….we’re raising money!
Over 130 members of staff at Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank’s call centre in Bootle gave up their Friday evening to staff the Red Nose Day 2007 Donation Line and raise money for Comic Relief.
The volunteers took nearly 4,500 calls throughout the night and raised £157,000 - which was nearly £50,000 more than they took during last Red Nose Day.
They also spent the day organising a variety of fundraising activities including ‘Wear Red to Work’, and a sponsored silence!
Steve Jennings, Director of Business Banking said: “Our team of exceptional volunteers jumped at the chance to donate their time to Comic Relief and help vulnerable people here in the UK and in Africa. Although they worked very hard, staff were spurred on by the nation’s generosity. Well done to everyone who took part!”
