International Alert
The overall aim of International Alert is to promote social and economic reintegration and reconciliation in two provinces in Rwanda. It addresses endemic poverty among survivors and the problems faced in communities by the release of tens of thousands of prisoners arrested for crimes committed during the genocide in 1994.
Comic Relief is supporting this project to strengthen economic opportunities for vulnerable people by providing small-scale loans and training to individuals and groups identified by the community. Community groups also encourage open discussions and trauma counselling is provided.
