About the Issue

Millions of children all over the world face extreme poverty, discrimination, exploitation and neglect. Children who live on the streets or who are forced into hazardous labour are some of the most vulnerable children in the world. Most street children come from incredibly poor families and some may have lost their parents, often to AIDS. Life on the streets is tough and can be dangerous. Children have to scavenge for food to eat or things they can sell to make a little money.
