Busoga Association
Jinja, the second largest town in Uganda, has 5 large slums where people live permanently in over-crowded accommodation often with no water, sanitation, protection or services. There are only a few irregular supplies of fresh water, no functional latrines and no community buildings. Comic Relief is supporting Busoga Association to help poor people, particularly women, living in slum areas of Jinja, Uganda.
Through this work women and young people are getting skills training, literacy training and credit to increase their income. Women are also getting help to acquire land and to build or renovate their houses. As a result of the project women and their families will have more secure tenancy and a better environment to live in.
