Women across Kenya make up 80% of the agricultural workforce on top of their domestic duties, but are often on the periphery of community decision-making. This means they find it harder to access and control resources and opportunities which would improve their livelihoods.
This project, supported by Comic Relief, is ensuring that women can assert their rights and control the resources needed to produce enough food to sustain their family’s needs. The key activities of this project revolve around good agricultural practice, soil and environmental conservation and income generating projects, as well as supporting community meetings and training in civic education and rights.
