One World Action
Two million Zambians live with HIV, where traditional practices such as early marriage and polygamy contribute to high levels of infection among women. Girls and young women are more likely to become infected with HIV than men and they carry the burden of caring for the sick and orphaned, and have less access to medical services and information.
Comic Relief is supporting this project to meet the basic needs of women and girls, and promote their rights, with the emphasis on enabling communities as a whole to look after their most vulnerable.
