Whitby & District Disablement Action Group
Over 3.5 million older people in the UK live alone. Many spend days on end without seeing another soul, often feeling trapped in their own homes. Thanks to money raised through Sport Relief, the Whitby & District Disablement Action Group (DAG) is providing gentle chair-based 'Movement to Music' classes for older people in the local area. As well as helping to keep their minds and bodies active, these sessions offer valuable opportunities for the older people to socialise and get out of the house – helping them to feel far less lonely.
