The Council of British Pakistanis (West Midlands Branch)
Forced marriage and honour violence occur mainly in South Asian, Eastern European and African communities and traps many women into a cycle where family honour outweighs the wishes and safety of the individual.
The West Midlands branch of the Council of British Pakistanis (WMCBP) is running information sessions in schools and colleges about this subject. They also want to build on their awareness-raising work throughout the community. This project will change the direction of many young people's lives, by giving them the support and guidance to make informed choices and keep them safe in future relationships.
