The Helen Bamber Foundation
Women refugees and asylum seekers are a growing group of people who are arriving in the UK after experiencing huge amounts of trauma. When they arrive, they get very little help and support which can have a long term impact on their ability to come to terms with what they have been through. Helen Bamber Foundation provides intensive support for these women to help them pick up the pieces of their shattered lives. Comic Relief is supporting them to help women address the underlying causes of their mental distress, decrease their isolation and enable them to rebuild their lives.
