Young People and Alcohol

Thrisk Clock

Local research has shown that young people are drinking heavily in Thirsk but they have no where to turn to for help. The more alcohol that young people drink, the more it leads to problems in the community as tensions rise between young people and residents, shopkeepers and the police.  In addition, these young people are more likely to take risks in sexual activity, drug use, fighting and committing crimes. Comic Relief is supporting Thirsk Clock to provide specialist confidential advice, in a friendly environment, to young people who are drinking in excess. They will get help to identify their alcohol problems, make links between their alcohol consumption and their anti-social behaviour and get supported to turn their lives around through specialist support.
