Chinese young people with mental health needs do not readily access the services that they need to help them recover - cultural and family traditions make it hard for them to express what they are going through and there is a lot of stigma attached to mental health issues.
This project, the first of its kind, meets the mental health needs of these young Chinese people in Greater Manchester. Comic Relief is helping the project to provide a Chinese-speaking young persons' mental health worker, and training of Wai Yin's staff and volunteers so that they can support these vulnerable young people through a very tough time in their lives.
