ECPAT UK (END CHILD PROSTITUTION, PORNOGRAPHY AND TRAFFICKING)
Young people, mostly in their mid-teens, are being trafficked into the UK from various places including Africa, Eastern Europe, China and Vietnam. These young people are being brought into the UK specifically for sexual exploitation and prostitution. They desperately need support to escape this abuse but very few professionals (such as teachers, social workers, police and immigration officers) have the knowledge to help them. Comic Relief is helping ECPAT to set up a project with AFRUCA (Africans Unite Against Child Abuse). Together, they will provide 20 training seminars throughout the UK for professionals working with children and young people.
