The UK is a receiving nation for young people who are trafficked – and all these young people are very vulnerable to sexual abuse.  Very few professionals in the UK (including youth, social and health workers, the police, teachers, immigration officers and charity workers) know how to help.  They don’t always know when children or young people have been trafficked and even if they suspect it, they don’t know how best to support these children and young people.

The Child Trafficking Advice and Information Line provides a national phone line open to professionals and members of the public with questions and concerns about child trafficking. Social workers are on hand to work more closely with individual professionals or groups where needed.  Emergency 24 hour cover is also provided to provide urgent assistance.  Comic Relief is supporting this project so that trafficked children and young people can get the vital support they need.
