Sainsbury's partnership with Comic Relief on both Red Nose Day and Sport Relief campaigns is a fantastic tool for us to engage and motivate our colleagues at every level of the business. We have seen a positive correlation between fundraising for Comic Relief and key customer service and colleague engagement measures as colleagues work together, enjoy themselves and do something different from their day to day roles.
During the past four years alone, Sainsbury’s colleagues have raised over £6 million for Comic Relief, which has gone on to help countless people within the communities in which we operate in the UK and in the world's poorest countries. The combination of delivering on our corporate responsibility objectives, improving service for our customers and making Sainsbury’s a great place to work for our colleagues makes our partnership with Comic Relief invaluable"

“We've been working in partnership with Comic Relief for 11 years and each year just gets bigger and better. The campaign allows our people to unite under one theme and really join in the spirit of the day. Our teams of community champions organise events and activities for each of their offices across the UK - these are inclusive, fun and sometimes whacky, but the message really is about getting everyone involved. Of course individuals do their own thing too but it collectively it means that everyone is behind the cause and doing something they feel passionate about. Comic Relief creates a real buzz amongst our people, and we know that they take pride in the fact that we support Comic Relief - we know because they tell us. Our senior people endorse it and get involved, it really is a day for making a difference and feeling proud to support such an important cause”
