We’ve funded 15,786 projects across the UK since Comic Relief began in 1985, supporting people living incredibly tough lives all around the country.
People have accessed health services
Comic Relief supporters helped more than 600,000 people gain access to basic health care between August 2010 and July 2011.
Insecticide-treated mosquito nets distributed
Between August 2010 and July 2011, money raised by Comic Relief supporters has distributed almost 1,275,000 insecticide-treated mosquito nets to families in Africa.
Projects tackling sexually exploited and trafficked young people
Since 2005 we’ve funded 118 projects that help sexually exploited and trafficked young people, and reduce the harm caused by the abuse they’ve faced.
People with improved attitudes towards mental health
In 2012, 1,500,000 people had improved attitudes towards mental health as a result of the Time to Change campaign.
People have accessed clean water
Money raised by Comic Relief supporters between August 2010 and July 2011 has provided access to clean water for almost 52,000 people living in slums.
Desperate voices heard
Comic Relief cash helped to launch, and has continued to support The National Domestic Violence Helpline in the UK, which has received over 1 million calls since it began in 2003.
People have accessed credit and savings schemes
Projects across our international programmes have enabled at least 91,388 people to access credit and savings schemes between August 2010 and July 2011.
Children received an education
Between August 2010 and July 2011, money raised by Comic Relief supporters has given almost 164,000 children around the world the chance to go to school.
