Today’s Good News – Valentine’s Day special!

This is a special Valentine’s Day good news story for all you romantics out there…

We’ve been supporting people living with mental health problems in the UK for some time now because many face terrible stigma and discrimination from their family, friends, neighbours and colleagues.

One project in Stoke-on-Trent helps to bring people coping with mental health problems together through a community café which is the perfect place to meet up, socialise and get support in a completely non-judgemental environment. In fact, that’s where Jim and Wenda met and fell in love, and indeed where Jim proposed to Wenda in front of our very eyes!  Click here to watch his proposal for yourselves!

Jim and Wenda are getting married tomorrow – on Valentine’s Day  – and we want to wish them all the very best!

Comic Relief has made its largest ever single UK grant to co-fund an anti-stigma campaign called ‘Time To Change’  in partnership with the Big Lottery Fund and key mental health agencies.  There has never before been such a huge drive to change public attitudes towards mental ill-health and we hope to see a big change as a result.  You can find out more about the campaign right here.
