Ant & Dec Steal The Limelight And Christine Bleakley’s Shoes

Double act Ant & Dec’s domination of UK television continued yesterday as they completed their all day broadcast challenge and spread the word about Red Nose Day to a massive estimated audience of 47 million.

The Geordie duo successfully managed to gatecrash over 10 TV programmes, swing by the studios of six radio stations and phone in to an impressive 17 radio shows. They’ve also dominated the online Tweeple with an estimated audience of over 6 million through Twitter.

Not only did the cheeky chaps steal the limelight from the show hosts, they also stole a lot of goodies to auction off for Red Nose Day and raise some serious cash! Some of the top prizes included a flatscreen TV and Nintendo DS, the Daybreak sofa, Christine Bleakley’s shoes and the dressing room door signed by countless celebrities from The One Show!

Desert Trek hero Lorraine Kelly was obviously impressed by the boys and tweeted: “Was raided by Ant and Dec today - they are so adorable - Sent them off with a tartan bra and knickers each - all in aid of Comic Relief!”

Using over seven different methods of transport, including a speedboat, motorbike, Boris bikes and a horse and trap, the pair sped around London to let the nation know it’s not too late to do something funny for money on Red Nose Day, Friday 18th March. They started at 7.14am on Daybreak and did their final broadcast on The One Show at 7.23 pm taking over the sofa with Matt Baker and Alex Jones.

The online auction of all their goodies will start on Red Nose Day – on Friday 18th March - and you can also steal a glimpse or two of their challenge with highlights on the big night of TV, this Friday night on BBC One.
