Comic Relief receives £3 million from HM Treasury to combat violence against women

11th May 2017

Comic Relief is delighted to receive a further £3 million fund from HM Treasury for our work to combat violence against women and girls.

Working to protect, inspire and empower women and girls across the UK is a key strategic priority for Comic Relief. This funding builds on the £3 million fund received from HM Treasury in March 2016 to support organisations across the UK focusing on issues including maternal mental health; girls in gangs; women in sport; women in tech, as well as providing core funding to women’s organisations.

Gilly Green, Comic Relief Head of UK Grants, said, “We are thrilled and extremely proud that HM Treasury has chosen to partner with us again to support our work with women and girls. Since March, we have successfully worked together to help provide women with vital support. To this new £3 million funding, Comic Relief will add an additional £1 million, allowing us to specifically work towards combating violence against women and girls. We look forward to building on our success, and working in partnership to tackle this critical issue.”

Information on how to apply for this funding will be available on our website as soon as further details have been confirmed.
