Atkins Global - Leeds

What a buzz! 130 volunteers from all corners of Atkins sat with headsets in place, eagerly waiting for the phone lines to open. Our managing director, ‘tea lady’ for the night, made 436 cups of tea and coffee, whilst our ‘ring masters’ (our development director and head of service delivery) ran fairground games to keep us entertained. Highlights of the night were a donation of £5,000, a grand total of £139,353.16 taken from callers, plus the donation by a child who pledged 50p with his Switch card. So competitive were our volunteers, they refused to take breaks in their bid to take the most pledges.
