Cambridgeshie Direct

Cambridgeshire Direct was filled with laughter on 18th March with more than 150 willing volunteers from across the County Council taking calls for Comic Relief. Over 5000 calls were taken between 7pm and 2am resulting in £168,680 for this worthy cause.

The volunteers were split into two shifts, arriving in their pyjamas or dressed as characters from their comedy teams: Little Britain, Fawlty Towers, Two Ronnies, Benidorm, Gavin and Stacey or The Office.

County Councillors helped keep the call handlers refreshed with much needed tea, coffee and chocolate cake and fund raising on the evening resulted in a further £413.40.
