J D Williams - Manchester

On Friday 18th March 2011, here at JD Williams we opened our doors to 120 volunteers, a mixture of employees, family and friends, who had donated their time, for the 3rd year, to staff the phonelines for Comic Relief.

The evening is the most popular event in the JD Williams calendar, with volunteers coming from all areas of the business, and supported by Alan White, CEO, who, to a round of applause, took the first call of the night.

The night was fun and entertaining, giving JD Williams another opportunity to engage with people on many levels. When the Manchester Fire Service came to serve drinks and could not resist the urge to take some calls we knew the night could not get any better and Suzanne Esplin spoke for everyone when she said ‘ I feel so proud that I was able to be involved on the night and that my support has made a difference’

With donations reaching a staggering £138,000, it’s our best year yet. Thanks Comic Relief for a fantastic night, you certainly raised the bar!
