Sage - Newcastle

It can be a long day taking telephone calls until midnight, but boy, was it worth it! 97 of Sage's finest gathered for Red Nose Day 2011 and had a ball along the way.

Shortly after 7pm the calls were coming thick and fast, and spot prizes were being dished out left, right and centre as we soon hit the 100th call mark and then the 1000th call mark.

Right on queue, in came our celebrity guests at around 8pm. Durham CCC cricketer Steve Harmison and Sunderland AFC footballer Titus Bramble mingled with our guests to boost morale, with Titus even taking a call!

At the busiest time of the night, a selection of 40 different pizzas made their way around the room, being snapped up at an alarming rate and munched even faster!

By midnight the calls faded and it was time to end. 97 happy, proud but tired faces logged off and made their way home, as the team of organisers raced around to tidy up the balloons, pizza boxes, used raffle tickets and left-over food. Who would have even known we'd been there?

A quick count confirmed our total of donations taken stood at an amazing £124,759.86. Can that be beaten next year? You bet it can!
