Specsavers - Nottingham

The Specsavers’ European contact centre, based at Cirrus House Nottingham, once again acted as one of the East Midlands donation hubs for Comic Relief. Telephone lines were staffed by some 120 volunteers made up of Specsavers’ staff from Cirrus House and nearby Specsavers stores in Hucknall, Ilkeston and West Bridgford all briefed and trained to do an excellent job on the phone lines. Other volunteers included staff from a range of local businesses, together with friends and family. The local vicar even helped out.

To help boost fundraising efforts the centre also ran a raffle on the night for the volunteers. Including a top prize of an all-expenses paid trip for two to London to attend the 2011 International Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards in November.
