Harry Cayton worked in the voluntary sector for over 20 years before becoming National Director for Patients and the Public at the Department of Health. Since 2007 he has been Chief Executive of the Professional Standards Authority for Health & Social Care. He is also a member of the Press Regulation Recognition Panel. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health and received an OBE in 2002 for services to people with dementia and the CBE in 2014 for services to health reform and regulation. His co-authored book for carers and people with dementia has been published in eight languages.
