Issues: Collective voice, influence, agency

Detailed research conducted by Chance for Childhood (CfC) shows that a significant proportion of children with street connections have difficulty expressing themselves.

These challenges could be due to trauma, disability or lack of schooling. But as a result, these children often spiral into conflict with authorities and the law and may also have been the cause of their leaving home.

This project, in Kenya, will work with schools, juvenile justice authorities and street children organisations to build their expertise. This will help them identify and overcome problems working with street connected children.

Through this project, children will be taught how to avoid abusive or troublesome situations so they can get back into their communities.

In the process, teachers will also be supported to make sure that all the children they teach can learn in less disruptive classrooms.

This project is co-funded by Comic Relief and UK aid.
