The UN states that over 8.4million people in the UK are struggling to eat. Meanwhile over 270,000 tonnes of good food are wasted every year.

FareShare has developed a model where surplus food is sourced and redistributed to local community groups.

The groups will then work with vulnerable people to provide good quality meals and vital support, helping them address barriers to getting out of poverty.

This funding will help to grow this model so that FareShare can invest in more surplus food and redistribute it to those most in need.
