COMIC RELIEF APPOINTS ALEX REID AS NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Alex will join the charity from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle where she is the Head of Global Campaigns, leading the Goalkeepers initiative focused on accelerating progress on the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Alex has a wealth of charity experience and has previously served as a Trustee to Comic Relief.

Alex is set to start on Monday 2nd March 2020 ahead of Sport Relief on March 13th 2020. She will be responsible for leading Comic Relief's large portfolio of work including Red Nose Day and year round fundraising campaigns, plus international and UK charitable projects and advocacy work.

Liz Warner, the current Chief Executive will leave Comic Relief to work in social enterprise at the end of November after three years at the helm. In the interim period as Alex relocates from Seattle, Ruth Davison, the Impact and Investment Executive Director, will act as Interim CEO and will lead the organisation until Alex's arrival at the start of March.
