1 in 7 people across the UK are skipping meals [1] because they can’t afford to buy enough food. With no way out, they’re going without. Choosing a warm home over a warm meal. That’s the population of Bristol, and Liverpool, and Manchester, and Oxford, and York. Combined [2]. Every single day, almost half of us worry about the rising cost of living [3].

But the impact of poverty goes beyond our villages, our towns, our cities.

In parts of East Africa drought and rising temperatures are causing crops to fail. Tens of millions of people are facing hunger caused by the worst drought seen in four decades [4], and every minute, as a result, people are dying, at frightening rates [5].
