What is The BIG Sport Relief Run?
The BIG Sport Relief Run is a virtual running challenge taking place in June 2025. Across the month, run 50km, 75km or 100km – or another distance of your choice! It’s about doing good, feeling good, and raising money for Sport Relief to make a BIG impact for people in need of mental health support.

Inspired by his own mental health challenges, back in March, Jamie Laing became Radio 1’s Ultra Marathon Man and ran from London to Salford in aid of Comic Relief. Jamie ran around 50km every day for an entire week. So, following his epic challenge, we're asking you to join the fight for better mental health, and rack up your own distance - bit by bit, across the whole month of June.

FAQ
To take part in the challenge, simply click through at the top of this page and complete the registration form. Or head to our Facebook group, fill in the registration form pinned to the top of the group and activate your Facebook fundraising page. We’ll then get your FREE t-shirt in the post and it’ll be with you within 2 weeks of registration.
Each fundraiser is set to £150 but you can edit this amount as you wish. There is no minimum fundraising amount for this challenge, we just ask you raise what you can – but if you aim high, you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve!
Of course, when you register we also create your very own Sport Relief fundraising page. This can be shared with anyone who doesn't wish to donate via Facebook. This fundraising page will show the total raised from your Facebook fundraiser too. If you want to fundraise via other methods such as JustGiving please email fundraising@comicrelief.com, and we can send you a T-shirt.
When you join the Facebook group and register you’ll have access to all our digital resources including a BIG Run kilometre logger to help you keep track. It doesn’t have to be exact – we trust you!
No, but please don’t forget to share your pictures, updates and questions within the fun and supportive Facebook group. Whether you’ve been motivated by Jamie Laing, the sunshine or a treat at the end, we’d love to hear from you.
This challenge is flexible. A reasonable level of fitness will be required but it should be accessible to most, that’s why we’ve designed three BIG Jamie-Laing-inspired distances we think suit a range of fitness levels. Please speak to your GP if you have any concerns.
If you are under 18 and would like to participate, please ask a parent or guardian to get in touch with us: we love and welcome families or groups taking on the challenge, too! However, the Facebook group is only for over 18s.
Once you’ve registered, please allow around 2 weeks for your FREE t-shirt to arrive.
Yes! Grab your friends, family or colleagues and make it a team activity, or even friendly competition. We’d encourage you all to complete your registration to make sure you get your t-shirts quickly. We also recommend you share just one of your fundraising pages as a group.
Yes, absolutely. The easiest way is to collect their donation offline and donate it to your fundraiser yourself, or if that isn’t an option then direct them to your Sport Relief fundraising page.
If you type in ‘Fundraiser’ in the Facebook search bar, it should come up. If you still can’t find it, please ask the administrators in the Facebook group.
If you have fundraising on an online fundraising page, all donations will automatically come directly to Comic Relief. If you have any offline fundraising to pay in, we would suggest paying this in to your own account and then paying onto your fundraising page yourself. If you’d prefer to send us offline fundraising in a different way please email fundraising@comicrelief.com and we’ll send you the details you need.
