Courtney & Richie
Please give now to help us fund life-changing projects in the UK and around the world, see where your money goes here.
Eighteen-year-old Courtney and her dad Richie have faced a lot of challenges. Richie was very young when he found out he was going to be a dad but from the day she was born Courtney became his best friend. For several years, Richie struggled with addiction and homelessness which meant that Courtney couldn’t see her dad for long periods of time.
Richie completely turned his life around and founded Steps To Hope(opens in new window), a not-for-profit organisation that supports people who have addictions and are homeless in Edinburgh. The organisation has gone from strength to strength and grown in just a few years. During the pandemic, they've continued to provide hot meals from their food truck, and safe, secure places to live.
The staff and volunteers at Steps To Hope understand addiction and homelessness, and what people need to build a new way of life. They give people a safe and secure environment to live, recover and then thrive, in a community free from judgement.
Your donations can help homeless people on the path to recovery. Donate today and, like Richie, change people’s lives.
“I think it’s a miracle what my dad’s done with Steps To Hope: how quickly it’s grown and how many people’s lives he’s already saved. I am so, so proud, I can’t put into words how proud I am of him. From what he’s came from, and what he is now, it really is a miracle.”
