10 YEARS OF uk aid & COMIC RELIEF

This week we’re celebrating 10 years of positive change with UK aid. And of course, how none of this would be possible without you and your support.

In September 2015, the United Nations launched the Global Goals. This is a series of ambitious targets to end extreme poverty and tackle climate change for everyone, everywhere.  This week, representatives from all countries on the planet are meeting in New York at the UN General Assembly. They will track how far we’ve come in reaching the Goals and what action we need to take together.

Comic Relief has partnered with UK aid since 2009 to jointly fund projects in more than 25 countries across sub-Saharan Africa to help deliver the Global Goals.

These projects are supporting people’s access to quality health and education, enhancing people’s income-generating opportunities, empowering women and girls, and improving the lives of those living in informal settlements in some of Africa’s fastest growing cities.

Together, these projects have contributed to improving the lives of more than 8.8 million people over the past decade by supporting incredible individuals, and their communities, to bring about positive change.

We know that positive change takes time. But it’s happening. Thank you for being a part of it.

Below you can read five different stories, each featuring amazing people and projects, that represent the contribution we are making towards achieving the Global Goals
