We work with trusted partners across the UK and around the world that see the impact of poverty and injustice in their communities every single day.
They use their lived experience and knowledge to try and tackle these issues through incredible local projects and initiatives that support thousands of people.
That way, we can create solutions that really make a difference. They're crafted by the people who truly understand the challenges being faced and who know that the right support at the right time in the right places can have a truly lasting impact.
But what do we actually fund?
Comic Relief support organisations across the world in a number of areas covering:
Gender Justice
Racial Justice
Climate Justice
Homelessness (UK)
Food and essential goods (UK)
Climate resilience (International)
Early Childhood development
Maternal and newborn child health (International)
Violence against women and girls
Forced migration to the UK (UK and routes to UK)
Or to put it another way, we're working to provide people with support in the following areas...

Basic Needs
The money you give to Comic Relief helps our partners work round-the-clock to get life’s essentials to people who really need them – things people really can’t live without, like food, clean water and healthcare.
Because when people have the basic things they need, worries become lighter, children happier, families tighter, communities stronger and lives better.
A safe place to call home
From civil unrest to family breakdowns and abuse, many of us have no choice but to flee our homes.
Your money helps our local partners support people to find a safe place to call home, with all the legal, financial and emotional support they need too.
It means people can put down roots, with all the belonging and joy it brings.
The best start in life
Children across the world and in the UK are forced to grow up too fast, carrying too much for young shoulders. And many children are still dying from preventable diseases.
Your money helps children get a good start in life, like helping to fund our partners who keep babies safe from HIV and AIDS, supporting young people leaving care to find new families, and training teachers so children with special educational needs can reach their full potential.
Put simply, together, we help children get back to being children.
Out of harm’s way
Everyone needs to be safe from harm.
Your money helps support our incredible partners, providing specialist care so people fleeing abuse and impacted by emergencies can find safety.
With support for mental health, practical everyday life and the chance to learn new skills, people can begin to rebuild their lives. It’s people helping people, and we’re all for that.
A fairer world Racism. Sexism. Homophobia. Ableism…Many people live with the odds stacked against them – purely because of who they are or where they’re from.
Your money helps our partners who, for example, are working with girls who are under pressure to leave school to keep learning and go for the goals they want in life, training mental health champions within communities to combat stigma, and supporting young Black talent so they can ace interviews and get jobs.
This week we’re celebrating International Day of Charity and all the incredible work of the projects you help to support.
Over the years, thanks to the generosity of the British public, incredible things have happened here in the UK and around the world – impacting the lives of over 1 million people - people facing the darkest times of their lives.
And whilst so much has changed for the better, new problems have emerged.
Today, different people face different hardships and we need your support now more than ever.
Doing good never gets old, and by doing a little to help – you can make things a lot better for people in the UK and all over the world.
If you’d like to help support some of the incredible projects Comic Relief work with who help to put food on plates and roofs over heads, keep little ones safe and help support families affected by conflict, please donate today.
