Tuesday 29 April: For those who dedicate themselves to fundraising, Comic Relief's The Nosey Awards are the ultimate recognition. These prestigious awards honour the incredible schools, groups, and individuals who raise life-changing funds for those in need, all in the name of Comic Relief. With over £36million raised by the British public for Red Nose Day this year alone, the winners of The Nosey Awards 2025 have now been revealed.

This year Comic Relief received a whopping 108 Nosey Award nominations, with the prestigious trophies being awarded across six categories, recognising individuals and groups whose passion and effort have made a real difference for Comic Relief. The six categories included our brand spanking new Ruby Star – an award presented in celebration of Comic Relief’s 40th anniversary in 2025. This award honours those fundraisers who have heroically stuck around longer than some sitcoms, showing outrageous loyalty and dedication to Comic Relief over the last 40 years.

LENNY AWARD WINNER: Ron Hayes and Son, Addlestone, Kent

Ron Hayes and Son, a much-loved hardware store in Addlestone, Kent, have been bringing joy to their community and raising vital funds for Comic Relief since 2009. Known for their hilarious fancy dress fundraisers, the team have transformed themselves into characters like Batman and Robin, the Blues Brothers, Del Boy and Rodney, the Ghostbusters, Fred Flintstone and Barney, and many more. Each year, they completely redecorate their shop to match the theme, building everything from a full Dalek and TARDIS to a jet plane, a Trotters three wheeled van, and even a glass elevator.

Their creative efforts have raised around £10,000 over the years, and their Red Nose Day antics have become the talk of the village. For 2025, they went all out with a Rock Kings theme, complete with a full stage, lights and a smoke machine outside the shop. Comic Relief is a cause close to their hearts, and their unwavering passion, humour and community spirit make them truly deserving of this year’s Lenny Award.

RISING STAR WINNER: Finn from Trinity Academy, Edinburgh

Finn, a student at Trinity Academy, has been recognised for his outstanding leadership and creativity in producing his school’s Teacher Taskmaster fundraising event for Comic Relief. Over the past two years, Finn has led on the production, filming and editing of the show, working alongside a student team of 20 and a teacher panel of 10. His dedication has helped raise over £1,600 through performances packed with imaginative challenges, witty commentary and audience engagement. Highlights included nose-themed prize tasks, dramatic relay races with props, and a show-stopping red velvet cake courtesy of the school’s Food and Consumer Technology teacher.

Despite the added challenge of relocating this year’s show due to school renovations, Finn’s passion, humour and commitment to making a difference have remained unwavering. His energy and leadership have been central to the project’s success, earning him a well-deserved Rising Star award. Finn’s hard work also led to his Teacher Taskmaster project being featured during this year’s Red Nose Day night of TV on the BBC.

SOLO SUPERSTAR WINNER: Naomi Stevens, Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire

Naomi Stevens, an experienced tarot card reader from the South West, has been fundraising for Comic Relief since 1985. Now 80 years old, she has raised over £4,000 by offering tarot readings in exchange for donations, continuing her efforts well into retirement.

Her commitment began when, while teaching computer skills as a single parent to support her two daughters, she visited a student’s office and discovered they were supporting the first Red Nose Day. With her tarot cards in hand, she spontaneously offered a reading for a donation. Everyone loved the idea and it quickly became a long-running tradition.

Naomi now arranges sessions at local venues in the lead-up to Red Nose Day, always arriving in Comic Relief-themed outfits she has carefully collected and customised over the years. In 2025, she is aiming to surpass last year’s total of £1,037, proving that dedication and creativity remain at the heart of successful fundraising. Her continued support over four decades makes her a truly deserving recipient of this year’s Solo Superstar award.

CLASS ACT WINNER: St Gregory CEVC Primary School, Sudbury, Suffolk

Over the past decade, the pupils and staff at St Gregory CEVC Primary School have embodied the spirit of Red Nose Day, raising over £5,000 for Comic Relief through a mix of heartfelt community initiatives and joyful silliness. Their creative campaigns have included visiting care homes, producing educational videos for children unable to attend school, thank you card projects for local heroes, and unforgettable events like a whole school conga and a “Year in a Day” celebration.

From superhero themed tributes during the pandemic to hosting joke telling competitions and even welcoming the Gladiators for a day of schoolyard challenges in 2024, the school has consistently found imaginative ways to engage and inspire. This year, to mark Comic Relief’s 40th anniversary, they have launched “40 Ways to Make the World a Better Place”, a series of thoughtful and playful actions led by each class, from Hokey Cokey flash mobs to powerful performances inspired by Wicked’s Elphaba. You can watch the video here(opens in new window).

Their unwavering enthusiasm and kindness, led by a team of dedicated teachers and driven by the children themselves, make St Greg’s a shining example of how schools can make a meaningful difference and worthy winners of the 2025 Class Act award.

DREAM TEAM WINNER: Shoezone, UK wide, HQ in Leicester

Fundraising for Red Nose Day is a company-wide effort at Shoezone, with stores across the country organising raffles, fancy dress events, and fun games. At the Shoezone HQ, the team comes together for a day filled with challenges, quizzes, giant Jenga, sports day-style events, and friendly competitions. A popular cake sale also adds a delicious treat to everyone’s fundraising efforts, making it a day of fun and generosity for all involved.
