Since Comic Relief began, we have helped more than 20.5 million people across Africa through our funding of malaria projects.

This World Malaria Day, we’re sharing inspiring stories of some of the incredible progress being made by communities that are harnessing people power to fight malaria.

People like Dorothy – a community health volunteer who supports families by carrying out home visits to test and treat children under the age of five for malaria.

Children are particularly vulnerable to malaria, with children under the age of five accounting for 61 percent of the global total of malaria deaths.

That’s why it’s vital that community health volunteers, like Dorothy, have everything they need to tackle malaria.
