Monday 12th February: Comic Relief will be taking over one of the West End’s most iconic venues, The London Palladium, for one night only on Monday 26 February.

Comic Relief – Live at The London Palladium, promises to be an unforgettable evening with some of the finest and funniest comedians around coming together for a very special stand-up show to raise money for Red Nose Day.

Returning to its roots in live comedy, Comic Relief – Live at The London Palladium will celebrate Sir Lenny Henry as he decides that now is the time to hand over the Red Nose Day mic. What better way to mark the beginning of a new era than returning to those early days when Lenny put on a “one-night” Comic Relief stand up gig in 1986 - setting the stage for decades of the best kind of giving - comedy and compassion all rolled into one. Get ready for an unmissable night of laughter and performances from: Aisling Bea, Fatiha El-Ghorri, Joel Dommett, Sir Lenny Henry, Mawaan Rizwan, Rosie Jones and Sara Pascoe.

Sir Lenny Henry, co-founder and Honorary Life President of Comic Relief, comments: “I love being on stage in front of a live audience – wanna know why? Well, it’s unpredictable, anything can happen. One night I had a tinker, tailor, a soldier and sailor on the front row – honest! That’s why I am so excited to share the stage with such an incredible line up of comedians for Comic Relief – Live at the London Palladium. More than that, giving people a good night out, all while raising money that changes lives is something I'll never tire of.

“We started Comic Relief 39 years ago and our first live gig was in the West End too. I never thought we’d still be here doing this whole funny for money kinda thing nearly four decades on (that’s, long man). It’s a testament to the brilliant British public who keep supporting us and giving so generously to help change lives, even when times are tough.

“So, join me and the crew for tons of laughter, antics, surprises and shenanigans and to raise money for great causes – and hopefully, literally, properly laugh our pants off!! Get your tickets now."

Aisling Bea said: “There really is nothing better than being in a room full of people and having a good laugh together, and doing it for a good cause makes it even more magical. Comic Relief – Live at The London Palladium is going to be just that, so please buy a blooming ticket and let us give you the night of your lives."

Rosie Jones said: “This year, I’m excited to be taking part in Comic Relief – Live at The London Palladium to celebrate the amazing Sir Lenny Henry. We’ll be joined by so many amazing comedians to raise some money for an amazing cause, so I hope you’re coming. Tickets are available right now, so, buy them, go on!"

Joel Dommett said: “The line-up is unbelievable and of course Lenny will be there too, it’s a real pleasure to be involved, take Comic Relief back to its roots and do some stand up too. Tickets are on sale now, so go on, buy a ticket – you know you want to!"

Samir Patel, CEO at Comic Relief says: “There are so many things to look forward to this Red Nose Day and Comic Relief – Live at The London Palladium is definitely one of them. This year we’re encouraging everyone to Do Something Funny for Money to raise money for Comic Relief and what better way to get involved than to sit back, relax and enjoy the funny with some of the UK’s finest comedy talent at the world-famous London Palladium."

Tickets are available now, prices start from £41 and can be purchased via LW Theatres(opens in new window) and Ticketmaster(opens in new window).

All profits will go to Comic Relief and help tackle the serious business of providing shelter for those who need it, safe spaces for those in danger, help to fill the shelves of food banks, or support families affected by conflict and climate change in the UK and around the world.

NOTES TO EDITORS

About Red Nose Day

Red Nose Day is back on Friday 15 March 2024!

It’s that time of year when incredible cake-bakers, joke-makers, telly-watchers, t shirt-wearers, Red Nose-buyers and laugh-til-you-cryers, do something to fight poverty through humour and fun, for communities here in the UK and around the world.

We know that when people come together, great things can happen. So, this March, Comic Relief is uniting the nation to Do Something Funny for Money. The money raised could help put food on plates and roofs over heads, keep little ones safe and help support families affected by conflict and climate change. Having a laugh can make a serious difference.

There are lots of ways to take part in Red Nose Day. To find out more, visit www.comicrelief.com/rednoseday(opens in new window) or follow @comicrelief on social media.

Red Nose Day is an initiative of Comic Relief.
