Radio 1’s Ultra Marathon Man is throwing Jamie truly out of his comfort zone, as he digs deeper than ever before to attempt 5 ultra marathons in 5 consecutive days.
From his start line in London on Monday 17 March, Jamie’s run of a lifetime is taking him North towards the finish in Salford this Friday 21 March - Red Nose Day itself.

He’s taking on this huge feat to raise money for Comic Relief funded projects that help tackle some of the urgent problems faced by people across the world, including here in the UK.
Red Nose Day is all about coming together, and Jamie’s hoping the nation will get behind him during this immense challenge. Because when we all go big and give big, we can support incredible projects which help children to be happier, families stronger, women safer, communities prouder, and millions of lives fairer.

Highlights: Day 4
Today saw Jamie tackle his 4th ultra marathon of the week, along a punishing route through the centre of Derby and out into the rolling hills of rural Derbyshire.
This morning, to Jamie’s tearful disbelief, Radio 1 revealed his fundraising total had surpassed £500,000 in donations for Comic Relief.
Mentally drained and physically exhausted, the rest of the day was the ultimate test of endurance and grit. Jamie’s body is at breaking point - receiving medical treatment on route and struggling under the blazing sunshine, Jamie was joined by his good friend and long-distance runner, Josh Patterson, to help push him through.
Waiting at the finish line in Matlock - after a relentless series of hills - was his super proud Dad, and a huge crowd of local well wishers with homemade signs to cheer him in.
Jamie’s reflections: “It was so hilly. It was mad. My knee is pretty sore and swollen quite badly. My ankle is swollen too. But we’ve raised a huge amount of money, which is just awesome. What an experience. One more day to go, so let’s do it!”
