The Final Push
After 4 relentless days, 359 miles, over 20 hours in the saddle, and two utterly exhausted legs, Jill has reached the FINAL STRETCH of her challenge.Today, she faces one last test: a 28.5-mile run from Bishop Auckland Football Club to the Stadium of Light in Sunderland - her home crowd, her finish line. It’s already been a staggering effort.
Jill has battled through punishing conditions - heavy rain, 5am starts, over 5,000 metres of elevation, and long days finishing in darkness. Even for someone who’s played on the biggest stages in football, this has been one of her toughest challenges yet. But the hardest miles are still ahead.
Supporters can watch the final stages of Jill’s homecoming live on the BBC News website(opens in new window) and BBC iPlayer from around 5.00pm today.
